Illness or Injury?
Are you Eligible for Compensation?
If you are a Veteran, member or ex- member of the ADF, have an injury or illness causally
related to your service, or you were discharged on medical grounds. You may be entitled
to benefits you didn’t know about under the following acts:
- VEA - Veterans’ Entitlement Act (Department of Veterans’ Affairs)
- SRCA - Safety, Rehabilitation & Compensation Act (Military Compensation Rehabilitation Services)
- MRCA- Military Rehabilitation & Compensation Act (Military Rehabilitation & Compensation Scheme)
By looking at your service history our Pensions & Advocacy volunteers can advise you of
your entitlement to benefits, even if you are not a current member of Defence Veterans
Association Inc.
You can also establish your eligibility for benefits and entitlements through the
Department of Veterans’ Affairs. For more information, visit the DVA website:
www.dva.gov.au.
Reserves and Cadets
All members of the Australia Defence Force (ADF), including Reserves and Cadets, have
compensation coverage under the provisions of the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation
Act 1988 (SRCA) and post 1 July 2004 Military Rehabilitation & Compensation Act (MRCA),
for injury arising out of, or in the course of, employment such as duty in the ADF,
Reserves or Cadet Corps.
This includes injury sustained while travelling between a member’s place of residence
and place of employment, including Reserve parades, camps etc.
